That was absolutely insane :shock:

Idiots like that have obviously never had to pick up the peices (sometimes literally) or had to tell relatives their baby is dead.

People putting themselves in a situation where they might kill themselves is one thing, putting others at risk like that is totally unacceptable.

I hope the day comes when they get tracked down
on the internet by the IP it came from and take
thier PRIVLAGE to drive
(at least in the US it is a privlage.)
all the postings about haveing to deal with the results,
when they misjudge How completly stupid they are
and crash
I too have seen the awfull results
Lost a friend in JR high school when she was pinned
between two cars on a motorcycle and Burned alive
sadly with people watching and helpless to do anything
I hope that guy that caused it is still in jail

there Is no excuse for this at all ...none whatsoever
With the level of concience we live in today with
the help of technology and video
Well I think a law should be made that when one signs for a
drivers licence
he agrees that if ever caught driving at this level of
mindless carlessness
they loss thier licence for life.........

Just curious about the privilage statement..

In what was is the US different to Europe or the west as we know it?

You have to apply for a License and pass a test within a time. You can be refuse of have it revoked on medical grounds.

It is not an automatic right.

It can be taken away permantly if you are old and make many mistakes (by court order).

I didn't want to assume as to the social or
govermental Philosophical thinking that was
used when making the laws in the UK
Of course I have seen many car chases in the UK via
tv shows and understand that penalties are assessed.
I guess i hadn't calmed down enough :roll:
In the US a drivers licence can be revolked or suspended
for many non driving infractions
Like in divorce matters when not paying child support
writing bad checks ..
alot of reasons
does the UK have Similar
laws?

Not that I know of but many times over the years it has been mentioned.

I am not though UK.

Especially as a youth punishment for bad behaviour but I think it falls foul of European human rights.

I was just curious as to how much it might vary in the US

well I agree I think you can over punish to the point of
despair
it is a fine line betwenn allowance of human imperfections
and hellbent deviant behavior
when laws are made and punisment is pronounced

For my job, i have to have a medical every three years. then a three part written test every five years. also random drug and drink testing at two hours notice. even when i 'am off duty they can call me at home and report to a medical centre. so far in four years i've had five tests and passed everytime. don't do drugs and the drink i have is communion wine. try and explain that to the medical staff :roll:
if for any reason i get pulled by the police is goes on my CVOR record and that can affect my employment within the trucking industry. just to finish i have to submit every year my cvor record, criminal search and driver licence. so i could lose a lot by buggering about.

What are your actual rules regarding drink. I know you don't but lets say you get home, you dont have to report to work for a couple of days, you drink just enough that you could not drive and then you get the call to report for testing and you get a non drinker to drive you there.

The drug testing is totally understandable but drink testing?

I'd go insane!!!

Are you on call to work at all times or something?
