I have done a 1960s Hatfield, available from Allnodes and Avsim. I have an early 1960s Southampton in progress, but if you're looking for the likes of LHR or LGW, I dont think anyone's done those yet.

Hi I am working on and almost finished Ipswich EGSE, a large grass field airport that closed in 1996. I have sort of based it around 1980 but to be honest, it did not change building wise from the 1960’s

Kevboy,

Thank you for that; your Ipswich scenery does you credit and I look forward to its release.

Also - what an interesting website - Owen Thetford and C Rupert Moore were names I remember from the publications of my youth!

Cheers,

Kevin

Kevboy, that looks really really good!

I got my PPL flying out of Ipswich toward the end of that period and it all looks very familiar.

Very sad that the place is now houses so I'm looking forward to your release.

Excellent.

Ah.. Portsmouth

PeteP said he'd done a version but ducked John's (RAF_Quantum) note that it would be handy for the VA. As it stands.. I'd be happy with a runway at Pompey let alone all the buildings!!

All it needs DB is the runways.....and a couple of Channel 748 's sitting across the fences and that will be Portsmouth no doubt.

I see what you mean Garry. Unfortunately, no one releases 'Just a runway' anymore as it is deemed unacceptable by the masses who expect oil-stained concrete and public loo's et-al. It goes without saying that 'eye candy' is nice but for the purposes of the VA, a runway at a particular location is all that is required. Many of the DH89 routes were from Pompey (Ipswich too) so we've had to 'work around' the problem by using what's available
