Just been thinking about this. When we fly a type, we are not actually flying "that aircraft" Example would be if I was flying G-ARTA, I would actually be flying one of the other standards in the sim. so....
If the performance figures are the same, theres nothing stopping you flying a C1K in the sim while on a civil flight on Flynet?
You would just set up the military routes using the civil type? Or am I making a fau pa
I'm not sure what the Client looks for in the .cfg to determine aircraft type but it can detect if you are in the wrong aircraft. How it knows, I have no idea.
My memories are now some 30 years old , but I think Royal flights were coded " purple", and the designated airspace, from which all other aircraft were excluded was certainly purple airspace. It would be tempting to add that if HRH Prince Philip were the pilot the airspace would be wider but sadly, this is untrue ( have a look at some of his excursions with Andovers to see why) . It was defined in NOTAMs on a timed basis . All Raf flights with transport a/c were at that time certainly " Ascot" as, per Tonks, is still the case

You could even do it in the Britt and Comet with a bit of research.
Just a thought....

Tonks: we realise that stopovers in Southern China may have been recreational, but is it really necessary to refer to it as Honk ( sic) Kong

Hi John,
I reckon it must use the ATC_Type in the cfg file? In which case they are all VC10's. That might explain why I made a cockup on one of my early 10 flights and flew a super by mistake!

Two airlines can have dozens of flights each between podunk and nowhereville and as long as there prices are standard and there reputations are good all the flights will be full. Sure they may 'compete' to get the highest market cap but if you dont really care about that (like we at the CBFS VA don't seam to be worried about it) I don't see an issue.
You must keep in mind that FlyNET is still technically a "BETA" software. If there is too many duplicate routes, load factors will go down, however the algorithm that calculates this is very basic right now. Konny has a new code that will be implimented later this summer most likely that will do a better job of simulating demand and reduce loads based on the demand of a given airport versus how many flights are offered and how "big" an airport is. Additional data will be used to determine how "big" the airport is, but Konny hasn't given any details on what this data will be yet.
Again though, I didn't set the rule, the community (which included me) and Konny agreed on it. If you want to change it, bring it up on the FlyNET forums. This isn't the place to discuss changing the way FlyNET works or is operated as Konny doesn't look here to see what's being discussed. You can also see the discussions that occured between about 10 users over this issue and the compromise we came to.
