Flight Planner crashes FS when accessing Navlog

Post by AllanL »

Isn't it quiet round here, you lot down South otherwise engaged for some reason?

I have had a problem with the flight Planner which I'd put down to an excess of downloading, and installing something that had disagreed with it.

Nearly every time, after completing a flightplan, any attempt is made to access the navlog, either through the flightplanner screen or the kneepad, FS crashes. I can still see the flightplan on the GPS.

Now a friend who has a plain vanilla un-download encumbered installation has encountered exactly the same problem.

(bizarre I know but I hope to lead him down the path to overloaded hangars yet)

Any suggestions as to cause or cure?

I suppose I'd better go and watch my son's nation kicking a pig's bladder about in the meantime.

Might see the Lynx ad again. The things they do to sell helicopters.

I had this problem for a while. It is usually fairly simply cured by first deleting fs9.cfg. Once this is done Fs will create a new cfg file on its next startup. If that doesn't cure it, try a complete reload of FS over your existing installation - no need to delete anything although you will need to reset your prefs - . This takes about 30 mins and should effect a cure

Thanks, the fs9.cfg deletion has provided a part fix, so it looks like a reload to see if that fully fixes it. Just have to track down my 9.1 download and then the disk 4 fix. They're on a backup CD round here somewhere.....
