Yup basically Steve reversed the alterations to the database and we upgraded to the latest version of phpBB, hopefulyl making it harder for the same thing to occur again. I really cant say what the hacker thought they were achieving, but then I cant understand what the chav who nicked a load of newspapers off the papergirl outside my hosues the otherday and procedeed to throw them everywhere at the bottom of my road thought he was achieving

Sorry to hear about this Toby, glad you got it sorted.
To be fair, an attack like this didn't happen to me. When my site went down it was because of a hack to the main server that my site was on which corrupted the backups and crashed it. My site just disappeared, along with probably a hundred others, so it wasn't an attack targeted against my site or my forum.
That still makes me want to get my hands on some of those guys though!

Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
