A bit of history...

Post by Hot_Charlie »

Google earth's high quality coverage is gradually spreading down and out from London. Looking at Boscombe Down one can now see several pieces of history...

1) Snoopy
2) ZA326 (Raspberry ripple Tonka GR1)
3) Raspberry ripple Jag
4) 2 BAC 1-11s

and a Herc, Tucano and an Gr7...

It was taken about a year, year and a half ago. When snoopy and the yellow 1-11 were on the apron. Snoopy is now at Marshalls and the 1-11 is in the museum.

I think there's a Raspberry Ripple Jag there too.

As mentioned above... I'd say a bit longer than 18 months - Snoopy was t'other side of the hangar on the right of the pic, where it was joined by said 1-11. XS750 and the Jetstream were living where Snoopy and the 1-11 are there...

Kevin

PS, I thought that 'Snoopy' was retired some years ago.

2001 was its last operational flight, I believe.

I held it up with a forced landing in a Bulldog.

It was, and it sat outside until flying to Marshall's about this time last year to become the A400M engine test bed.
