Cosford Comet

Post by Garry Russell »

Someone asked this question a little while ago but I can't find the thread

According to my Airliner World that came today The Comet is believed to be going back into RAF livery.

It mentions the Britannia like the Comet was no part of the BA collection and it is not known if it will retain it's BOAC livery.

But this does seem to confirm their remaining where as before it was assumed they were, simply based on the fact they were not apart of the collection that was being removed.

A similar set of comments in the copy of Flypast I picked up yesterday.

There was a statement with the article, emphasising how they were an important part of the collection, also comments about getting them moved indoors to ensure their future.

Thanks Andy

I have only glanced through the version here quickly but that does seem to ensure their future.

A little bit of good news to come out of the Museum.

I've been hoping for a while that it would be re-painted in Raf colours once again, mainly because the existing scheme has seen far better days recently.

I also always found it a bit unusual to see a Comet 1XB in BOAC colours, but it didn't look too bad really

Thanks for the news Garry,
Nick
