I don't know what it's like where you are, but 1Kg Coffee beans is now AU$58, and the humble 180g Chocolate bar AU$8.
Just as well petrol just dipped below AU$1.70/L, which is cheaper than milk now (AU$4.60 for 2L)
I just purchased a 32 oz of Peet's Organic French Roast from Costco, it cost me about 21$US (tax included). So convert pounds to KG and then USD to AU and that's about 35.9AU/KG.
Cheapest gas (petrol) around me is also at Costco at 4.59$US a gallon. So doing a similar conversion its about 1.88AU/L, but then gas prices in California are usually higher than the rest of the country.

Hi Joe,
That petrol price surprised me; I thought that they just about gave it away in the US. I guess the global giants have it all under control.
Here in my city in SW Ontario, Canada we currently pay $1.25 CAD per litre for gasoline/petrol (but it can vary daily) which works out to $1.39 AUD per litre (I don't know if that's good or bad).
We usually buy Folgers filter coffee when it is on sale and that costs $15.00 CAD for a 816 gm drum so that would be $16.69 AUD per drum (again I don't know if that's good or bad).
