Shortly after take off from Rhodes, destination Rome, engine number 3 decided to stop producing thrust.
No idea why, tried all sorts but it wouldn't restart so I feathered the prop.
No panic, aircraft is under control with a modest rate of climb, 500 FpM.
Way over max landing weight and no way to dump fuel.
With a bit of experimentation I found I could get to FL120 and was using less fuel per mile than FL160 with four engines, so I carefully carried on to Rome.

Old pilots never die, they just run out of runway.

Thats the very talented Mr. Fraser McKay... As I recall he built failures in on the Vanguard and Viscount
Ben.

Re: Viscount on 3
Good thing I have NOT yet tried flying Viscount or otherwise I would have wound up crashing Viscount into Mediterranean Sea after take off from LLBG not knowing about the built in failures. Thanks for the valuable warning. I think Arkia airline operated Viscount.
