BBMF Spitfire and Sqn Ldr Mark Long

Post by Airspeed »

Received a feed today, telling me that last Saturday, both names in this topic heading were lost in a crash.
I checked, but couldn't find any references to the tragedy here.
It was attributed to the BBC, so I assume the truth of it.
Sad news, and R.I.P. Mark :'(

Apparently, this means absolutely nothing to our Members.
I'm so disappointed.

Apologies Mike, it does mean a lot.
I had watched a live stream of Mark getting his Public Display Authorisation just a day or two before the incident. So sad.

I don’t really believe this to be true Mike. There could have been any number of reasons for the lack of responses.
I my own case I was on holiday in Greece at the time and not paying much attention to the news. Of course this is very sad event and a tragedy for his family and all those that knew him. R.I.P Mark.EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

My thoughts initially, Eric, but as of today, there have been 80 views and that includes these three responses. Perhaps the other 77 were non members who did a Google search on the topic :dunno:

I'm sure a lot of people have seen the very sad news and it certainly will mean something to them. I know I did, I just didn't come here to talk about it.
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

I would not say it means nothing. I read about it the day it happened, did check to see if anyone had commented on it, but since details were sparse and I did not feel I had anything useful to contribute I did not say anything.
