Video: Modem Sounds

Post by FlyTexas »

I'm not sure if many of you will enjoy this video. For those who do, I hope it puts a smile on your face. It brought back happy memories for me connecting to BBS' using my smoking hot 2400 baud modem.

Ah, the good????old days! I remember how excited I was when I upgraded from 300 Baud to 2400 baud.

The first two sound most like the one I was familiar with. Although, I think I'd call it 'the slow old days' rather than the good old days.

It reminds me of the sound I'd hear when I called someone's fax number by mistake.

 In the wee hours one night I fat-fingered a phone number while trying to connect to a BBS. While my modem was making all its noises I heard a very groggy human voice saying "hello". To this day I feel bad for waking up that poor guy in the middle of the night.
