Re: St Valentine's day.
Congratulations all round I think
We are now in our 54th year of marriage having met in the then new 10 pin bowling alley in Nottingham in 1965. I suppose bowled over is the obvious pun!
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!
Re: St Valentine's day.
Thanks for your good wishes. Nowadays, if you want a Royal card, somebody has to apply for one on your behalf. You can't apply for one yourself.
With people living much longer now, they send out hundreds of 100 Birthday cards every day. It's a massive undertaking for the office team in Buckingham Palace. Diamond wedding anniversary is the first one you get a card for.
Den & Pat.

Congratulations Den.
I met my future wife in 1953, but unfortunately she died 4 years ago. I still miss her every second.

Very sorry to hear that George. Reading this thread must be quite painful for you. Take care and best wishes EricTI met my future wife in 1953, but unfortunately she died 4 years ago. I still miss her every second.

Re: St Valentine's day.
Know what you mean George.
I lost my lass 15 years ago come April 2nd. Folks told me, "You will get over it." If you ever do, I still have to reqach that stage.
Joan' ashes are in the Colubarium at the East Ridind Crematorium. I visit with flowers every week and give her all the latest news. I am ahamed to admit that she gets more flowers now she has gone than she was here.

Re: St Valentine's day.
I don’t think you ever get over loss like that Graham and George. I just hope my time come before the girls and then I’ll never have to.

Re: St Valentine's day.
Allan, you have not had your first disagreement because you have realised the good lady is always right!!Buggyman wrote: ↑14 Feb 2022, 21:16Separated and well into divorce proceedings and the last thing I wanted was a new relationship.. ever.
So why I kissed a woman friend, who I had known for a couple of years, I will never know. But I did and it was the best thing that ever happened. We have been married for 40 years and have yet to have our first disagreement.
Funny old world isn't it?

Graham,
We work on the basis that if it ain't broke we don't waste time trying to fix it and anyway, life is too short to waste being petty.
Maybe we are just a good match? Either way, it's worked so far.
