COVID in Victoria

Post by Airspeed »

The UK version of COVID is spreading fast here. Apparently, by the time people test positive, they've already infected their contacts. :worried: :worried:
They just had announced another snap lockdown. No spectators at the tennis.
Only allowed out for 4 essential reasons, only 1 visitor allowed per household.
Cheers, Mike.

Welcome to the Pleasuredome Mike. The media refer to this as the Kent variant. Cynics such as I believe this has absolutely nothing to do with the proximity of the English Channel. Perish the thought! 8) EricT

UK version? So called Kent version. So where did we get it from? Dover is where hundreds of foreign vehicles arrive every day, Where is Dover? Kent!

Yes and not all foreign vehicles arriving in Kent are road vehicles. *-) EricT

Update:
Correction- no visitors allowed in your home.
No travel over 5Km from home.
Tonight's news, panic buying has left supermarkets without toilet paper AGAIN. It's enough to give you the sh**s, though under the circumstances, that should be avoided at all costs.
They are finally realising that-(a) Hotels were not built to be isolation wards. (b) They should be more careful about letting international visitors into the country.
Cheers, Mike.

Wish that Britain would follow the Australians regarding lock-downs but then again, Aussies are probably better than the Brits when it comes to isolation or not mixing with others hence the many fines that are issued to selfish individuals here.

Instead of fining them, I would make them work in a hospital cleaning and disinfecting the wards. Bet they won't re-offend afterwards!! (another rant over).

Just to show how selfish Brits can be in lockdown...............https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-56039285

Not all Brits are selfish, lager louts, football hooligans, or any other labels that have been hung on us over the years.

I'm Welsh and proud of it, but a Brit nevertheless.

Totally agree. Much of this image is down to the media. Likewise I now live in Scotland, I was born and have lived the majority of my life in England but I am British. :) EricT

Very sorry to hear that Mike. You need a dose of "I'm not a cat". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK5kkZRvfHQ

That should briefly lighten the load.
