Hope that your dog is going better.
Thanks Mike. Ben is an ex-racing greyhound into his dotage now but still practising to be an Olympic Gold Medal winner at sleeping. He suffers a doggy form of IBS which cripples him and we have a set routine of immediate home medication followed by a trip to the vet for an injection. This sees him OK for a few weeks and then we go through the cycle again. Trouble is that each cycle seems worse and it is just a matter of time...
We keep on thinking of another greyhound to keep him company but he has become used to being the only dog since his partner went last autumn, talk about rock and a hard place.
So we live for the day. He is fine now and awaiting his morning walk which is followed by 4 hours kip, lunch, pee, 4 hours kip, tea, walk P&P, kip, supper and then to bed for a good night's sleep. I kid you not, that is his routine and seems to the one that most ex-racers adopt. He is so laid back that he can't be arsed to meet visitors - they have to go to him. We have had workmen in the front room for half an hour before they realise that Ben is on the sofa - asleep! He will happily travel for hours in the car so long as it isn't in the direction of the vets
