Eaglet

Had 380 points at X-Plane.Org made up from purchases so went to see what is on offer for around that figure.............Not a lot but took a shine to the Eaglet micro-light, cruises beautifully at 2,000 rpm which is around 100kts and is a 2 seater.

Very nice handling qualities and if I had enough money and was in the market for something small to fly then it would be this.

That's what I think as well Mike, no way would I ever be tempted into something like a hang glider type of micro-light. I have a fear of heights and that extends to being even a couple of rungs up the ladder, if I am surrounded by a cockpit ten I am OK but not sat in a seat with nothing around for support.

I'm with you on that Nigel.

My attempts to cure my fear of heights have included:

Rock climbing - OK going up but coming down was a real brown trouser job.
Parachuting - actually enjoyed that one
Parascending - terrifying
Gliding - again OK
Light aircraft and helicopters - fine
Climbing ladders - yikes
Going up tall towers like old castles - no way
I don't mind being up in a tall building but not in the open and not looking down
Even changing a light bulb or painting a stair head is a major traumatic experience. Then again I do give work to professional painters and decorators and odd-job men

My joke is that if I were to wear high heels (doubtful) then I would get nose bleed.

Hi Allan, that just about sums it up for me as well, on holiday at Scarborough one year and went up to Whitby, has a small lighthouse and Paul, our youngest wanted to go up it. As we climbed the spiral staircase which had stone wall either side of the stairs I found that half way up I was keeping very close to the inside wall and as we arrived at the top I just made a grab for the railings. Even in a multi-storey car park I cannot walk to the side of one and look down!!

Even in full screen mode watching this just curls my toes in and my stomach churns.
