Old wheels for you to identify

Spotted this a couple of days ago.
You smart folks will know it.
I found only one badge which meant anything to me. I should have remembered the bonnet icon.

Looks very like an Armstrong Siddeley. No idea which one.

Certainly looks like the Armstrong Siddeley sphinx mascot on the bonnet. I'd guess at an Armstrong Siddeley Whitley from the early 50s?

I think it is in fact the Typhoon model.
This confirms 2 doors and same placement of indicators & air scoops.

I thought maybe it was a Mercedes Benz something or other. That Mercedes Benz logo above the bumper threw me.

I think that is a stylized 'A' (for Armstrong maybe) rather than the tri-legged Merc logo.

I'm not sure about that. I think it may be an Institute of Advanced Motorists' badge . The car is incredibly rare : whilst there are a few saloons around , this coupe is another matter. It just shows that cars last better in Oz !

I just zoomed in on the photo and you could be correct in thinking it's the IAM logo. It certainly looks like that now.
