Scampton 2018 Airshow Cancelled.

Post by Nigel H-J »

No air show for the 100th anniversary of the RAF next year as the organisers of the event this year made a loss though they will be back for 2019 (so they say)!!

I felt that the pricing was just a bit steep but that is my own opinion.

That is a shame. The headline was a q about price. I think it may be a tad overpriced at £39.00. For comparison here is the list of last years CYXX show which is one of the largest in NA. I reckon it to be good value.

Active Military & Veterans (Valid ID req'd) Free
Child under 5 Free
Early Bird Online At Gate
Child (6-12) $12.50 $14 $17.62
Adult (13+) $25 $29 $31.90
Family Pass $75 $85 $93.81
(2 Adults/2 Children 6-17. Includes Parking)

divide roughly 1.7 for exchange rate.

Have to agree that £39 would put me off.
I paid the equivalent of £29 for the 2017 Downunder.
Maybe the attendance would rise if the price was lowered, but of course, that's what they'll be considering.
Cheers, Mike.

I think it was well priced to attract families (or dads and U16s) but going straight in at RIAT level prices was optimistic.
