Re: TNCM Being Hit By Nasty Hurricane
Well I've shuttered up 3 houses so far ... Have the generator tuned-up and load tested.
I've got 20 gallons of gas for it.. the RV is up and all systems running on standby for alt shelter after the storm..
It secured at a safe place with adequate protection from the wind. Van is fully fueled.
Plenty of water and food. First-aid kit .. plenty of portable batteries to recharge the phone .. flashlights..yada yada..
Still lots of work to do...

Dang, you're definitely getting prepared.
I would have just loaded up on booze and purchased one of these.

Yes...I think I'd go with Brian's preparations too.

Oh you would - would you...

Re: TNCM Being Hit By Nasty Hurricane
On second thought I'd invest in a patchkit for the duck...and a second corkscrew in case the other one fell overboard.

Forget the duck and get a worthwhile floatation device

Be safe Joe.
BTW, Signature (my employer) has a lot of bases in that part of the world, including several that took direct hits. Amazingly, even as bad as it looks, most of our locations have at least partially re-opened to take in relief flights and additional evacuation operations until they close again for Jose. I know that we evacuated all of our Key West employees yesterday and they are closing most of our Miami bases for Irma and our Carribbean locations for Jose tomorrow thru the weekend.
We have a whole page on the closures that is a pretty interesting read when you realize how many places are being affected by these storms - https://www.signatureflight.com/events/ ... -closures/
