Air France used to run a late-night freight service into Heathrow with a Deux Ponts. One night in the late-60s I was on duty in the tower when one - presumably loaded to the gunwales with freight - called for clearance. On being asked on behalf of London Airways (as it then was) if he could be level at FL60 by Foxtrot Charlie (an old reporting point on the French coast), the indignant reply in a wonderful French accent was, "What do you think I'm flying 'ere - a fighter?"
