Need a ride to 'Flying Legends' this year?

Post by FlyTexas »

I can take you in my shiny new helicopter. ;) Think of all the time you'll save not being stuck in traffic. Any who, this is the FS9 Nemeth Designs S-76 (freeware) which some clever guy has just converted to native FSX. The helicopter can be found at avsim.com, and the photoreal paint by Edward Cox can also be found at avsim.com. B-)

I think that's the model converted by George isn't it (euroastar350). I keep meaning to leap over to AVSIM to give it a go. Think I'll do that now

Yep, that's the one. He really did a nice job with this conversion. :)

Hmm.. not working for me. I'm getting a panels.dll error and immediate shutdown *-)

Never mind.

Looks good. I downloaded that last night but haven't installed it yet.

Were you able to get it fixed? Someone at SimOuthouse was also seeing that error.

Well, sort of. I checked all the entries for XMLTools (which I already had installed) to see if there were duplicates and there weren't and also checked file dates. What I did after that, I can't remember.. it WAS over 10 hrs ago  In the event, it opened up, I did a circuit of Culdrose then removed it from Rotorcraft. Nice looking model but not for me.
Strangely, FSX continued to ask if I wanted to run XML Tools and I've no idea why as it didn't do this after first acceptance. With the installation of the S76, it had turned from an 'accept once and forget' into a TacPack type dll (which I have set to prompt so I say yes or no every time FSX loads depending on if I want TP to run or not). I've removed every visible trace of the S76 (including the Simobjects bin inside Users/Roaming/AppData/Microsoft/FSX) and now FSX starts without asking if I trust XML Tools.

No complaints. The model is offered freeware so you take it or leave it. It does seem to have upset the apple cart with a few users though.. not the model itself but the software and install.
