When making a vertical landing it's advisable to make sure your landing area is clear before you land. :doh:

An honest mistake guv' :lol: TBH.. if you saw a Harrier was about to land on you.. you'd leg it sharpish so more fool him :lol:

Given that the French don't possess Harriers, they most likely overlooked the vertical descent possibility.
