Beautiful images of an iconic jet ! Brian Franklin did a wonderful job with the model, it still looks good almost 10 years after it came out. Someone called "Reef" did some very nice skins for the FAW.1 but it is hard to find them on the web these days. If you want them, I kept a copy in my archive.

It was achieved using AirTrafficFX Nige. You may already have it It's not idiot proof (I've tested it enough times!!) but with the right models.. you can maintain fairly decent control. The main model is Brian's Sea Vixen (as Henk noted) and the AI are dedicated AI models by John Young. I usually ONLY fly the FAW1 as I like the cleaner lines but JY only made FAW2 AI models.. damn him! .. hence a rare outing in the FAW2 for these shots
Henk.. I was lucky enough to be passed those 3 paints last year.. maybe the year before. I've used them pretty much all the time since

Well b*gger me, here I was looking at that excellent formation aerobatic manoeuvre and thinking boy, wish I could achieve that standard of Dave's flying skills and all the time you........well.......had some help.
As a matter of fact I don't have AirtrafficFX but might consider it at some point though will be quite low on the list at the moment.

Nigel.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
Very nice shots, DB. Am I correct in thinking the Sea Vixen is no longer available ? Every time I see a picture of it, I think it would be a nice addition to my small collection of vintage jets.
Sadly.. that is correct. I never saw the SV on sale anywhere except Skysim so the demise of the company and store meant no more SV or Hawk You never know.. JF/AH might make it one day. I can only imagine what a barrel of laughs THAT would be!!
As I thought - thanks for the confirmation, Dave. It would have been a nice companion for DG's Hunter, Rob Richardson's Meteor and Sea Hawk, and JF's ( yes, JF's ) PR9. Talking of which, what do you think of the PR9 ? I think it's lovely.
As with most models I buy.. the PR9 has been a waste of money. Performance on my rig has always been 'ok' rather than good and quirks with the original release culminating in 3 SP's meant I pretty much lost interest. While SP's are welcome, I'd prefer things to be right first time (wouldn't we all).
Not bad overall but it rarely gets flown.
