Lossiemouth to East Fortune. With a couple of diversions.
Thanks to Postimage for free hosting.
Thanks to Rob for the Seahawk, and Dave for the repaint. Lossie and Leuchars are by Scotflight. East Fortune is by George, who incidentally thinks it's rubbish, but it's in the right place and is a lot better than nothing at all. So thanks George. Who the carrier is by, I know not. I just happened upon it as I flew over the Firth of Forth.
Yes Mike.. who'd have thunk 'J' could be Eagle. Why not E!!
The wing and rear fuse numbers are the airframe.. something that never changes. The large fuse numbers are squadron numbers and could possibly change between airframes. For example.. 'A' squadron may be allocated block numbers 101 to 109. Over the course of time, an airframe may be lost or written off.. lets say squadron side number 104.. airframe XE123.. and this gets replaced. The new airframe (eg XV567) wouldn't wear side number 110, it would get 104
Further down the line.. a squadron could disband and it's aircraft allocated to other squadrons. They would wear the same airframe numbers but their side numbers would fall into line with the new squadron.
