Editvoicepack issues

Post by migman29 »

Having a bit of grief(though not strictly an EVP issue)relating to EVP.

Still using coal-fired Fs9 BTW,but when I try to import new voicepacks,I get an error message that reads "index is outside the bounds of the array"
and EVP doesn't import.

Anyone else had this issue over the years and remember how to fix it?.

Never used it mate but by the sound of it.. you're exceeding the number of callsigns allowed.

Memory is very wooly, but...

Silliest question of course is - have you got the correct EVP installed for FS9 :hide:

Can happen if "UseEnglishBig.gvp file becomes corrupted and needs to be replaced with the original. You would then have to start from scratch again with your added mods.

Too many imports without saving and updating.

Missing .NET

Have you tried telling EVP to "restore original" from the file drop down?

I still have FS9 on my box, if you tell me which mod you are trying to install, I will try it and see what happens.

My USEnglishBig.gvp file is 456122KB in size...I could probably put it in my website temporarily for you to download if you like...You would then move yours out and replace it with mine...I think it would work?

That might well work Peter.

I'm looking to run vcp mods for WWII a/c,eg Spitfire,Hurricane,Kittyhawk,Warhawk,Lancaster,Fortress,Tiger Moth,Harvard and so on
to run with ACG's IWM Duxford scenery

Edit.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling EVP,didn't make the slightest bit of difference,it does seem to download automatic updates from the net though.

After googling extensively,it seems to be pointing to an SQL Server problem, whatever that is when it's at home.

Well I just tried to upload a Zipped copy of my USEnglishBig.gvp to my website and it was just too big and was going to take over 2 hours. I think the only possibilty is to send it to you on a USB drive :agree:

OK...I have just burned it to a CD and its details are identical to my file...I have put the CD in a case and now need an address to send it to...Can you give me your address in a PM?

Hi Peter the new EVP files use a slightly different format not compatible with FS9. There is possibly a mismatch going on with new files and old programs. Unfortunately the new EVP has no compatibility with FS9. Not the answer you wanted, but it possibly explains the error.

Hi,

Apologies if this is irrelevant but when moving editvoicepack 3 to my new W8.1, I found that everything (FS9) worked normally except that it would not create an evp_accelerated.gvp file until eventually I tried using "run as administrator" when opening the .exe, when it then performed.

Similar experience with ADE9X. Almost every feature works normally OK when opening the .exe with a normal click except that the "connect" feature only works if you run as administrator.

Very misleading.

Bill
