Some very tempting offers to be had and very nearly got my card out but............going to wait until more offers come on especially from Just Flight as fancy their DC8 if they have an Xmas offer on it. :xsmile:

BTW just be careful with the Carenado site I did not see straight away the different sims for each. :$

Regards
Nigel.

There's little I fancy from Carenado outside what I already have (and that's more than I use.. I don't have ONE installed) but.. in the spirit of Christmas.. I bagged the B200 as A) I fancied the RAF paint and B) reviews said there's little or no FR hit. To the first point.. the RAF paint you get is an old one and to the second point.. the reviewers obviously don't have low/middle-end systems!! Ironic that the B200 is one of the 30% off items rather than the 80% off 8)
Flown it once thus far. Everything is where you'd expect it to be. Externally.. the 2048 maps are disappointingly not as sharp and crisp as in the screenies. They're sharp but slightly 'broken' unless you're at the ideal angle. Probably my rig.. I'm not setup for 2048 maps. As mentioned.. the 'little or no FR hit' doesn't apply to me. It's better than the C90 HD.. similar on my rig to the MV F-15 which is as heavy as I can take before the model see's dust sheets. It's nicer to fly than the C90. Best of all are the sounds. Where the default KingAir (and many others which use it's soundset) sounds like a moped or a bee in a biscuit tin.. the Carenado B200 doesn't. There's a lot of meat to the lower.. deeper sounds and the full range is very pleasing.

As for the sale itself.. there are a lot of giveaways.. quality models which justify and command a high price are going for less than a fiver in some cases. Worthwhile checking out if there's something you've always wanted but didn't want to cough up the cash ;)

The Beech Baron has always interested me:

However I believe A2A has a G.A. twin in development, and once that's out I'd probably lose interest in the Baron. It's the Captain Sim sale I'm really holding out for.

Dave, I'm after the P3D version of the Boeing 727 base model. The two expansions, 727-200 and 727 freighter, work in both sims, but the base model is now specific to either FSX or P3D. :)

Indeed Dave, particularly as their sales are usually at short notice and last only 24 hours. They usually start at midnight in Moscow, too. All my 'devices' are scanning the web for the first launch signs.

Nothing from CS for me Colin and very little else to be honest. I outdid myself last year and bought just about everything  I have just bought the Milviz T-38 ADV update ($45 discount as I have the standard version) and thus far.. it's broken so I'm not very happy. The only thing I'm looking forward to is the AH Dove/Devon but hell knows when that will raise it's pretty head. 8)

It's not going to be a Christmas of buying loads of models I'm afraid. Been there, done that :worried:
