Oh bugger. Mines a 32gb, with about 7gb left at the moment. Got a 64gb memory card plugged in as well though.
Sometimes I find updates won't download and install if you're actually using the thing at the same time.

I've emailed Linx asking them for their comments as to the viability of the 16gig tablet. After the initial euphoria.. I feel a return coming on

My tablet, bought using SWMBO Safeway AirMiles 2 years ago, sits unloved and unused and looking forward to when the grandkids come over and play Candy Crush on it. Its sole function.... Ohhh Grandad you forgot to charge it. Uh oh.

In reality Alex.. this tablet wasn't bought to do much more than browse the web, check mail and give SWMBO something to play with a bit more portable than the laptop (though less than her Nintendo 3DMax). The simple fact that it cannot handle the initial Win10 updates is ridiculous. If I could guarantee I'd get the space back after the updates had completed.. I'd let it use the 32gig memory card but how often do windows updates remove previous versions? A glance in your system folders will show this doesn't happen I guess I could grab some space back by uninstalling apps but this somehow defeats the object.
I've since learned that this model.. the 10 Light10 appears to have been specifically put together for Sainsburys and I guess the 'Light' bit in the title means 16gig. You can't buy this version anywhere else. Even Linx don't advertise it. They sell 3 versions.. the Light10 isn't one and all theirs come with 32gig as standard. All I can say is that the 'Light' version was not put together with a great deal of thought. This beggars belief I know. Maybe Win10 Mobile is just too big for a minimum disc space of 16gig. This would certainly seem to be the case.
I've yet to hear from Linx on the matter and have emailed Sainsburys too. It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say. I guess they'll say what do you expect for £159.. if they're brave enough. If I take the 41mb Mahjong game off it.. it'll still be 2gig short of what's required to complete the system update.

My disappointment is profound. I've wanted a tablet for ages and this isn't the experience I was looking for

£159. I think they saw you coming Dave. You can get the 32gb version for £149 at Amazon.

Thanks for that Dave. I only paid £100 for it as it happens so it didn't seem such a bad buy. Knowing what I know now.. a full retail (in store) price of £159 seems unreasonable and I wouldn't have paid that for any tablet let alone this one As it's transpired.. £100 was money misspent and certainly not the bargain I thought.

I'm going to return the darned thing today. Any idea how I can get rid of my details on it? I've tried to remove my email account but of course.. Win10 uses that as a login and there's not an option to delete my account

It's setup for PIN entry so Joe User isn't going to be able to get in anyway though anyone that does will have my email account but not my password. I guess Sainsbags will have to send it back to Linx. I shall impress on them that that's what they'll have to do

Am keen to hear what both Linx and Sainsburys have to say but whether either will respond remains to be seen.

1010L duly returned and refund received. I still want one of these darned things though and have been searching. The closest thing to what I want vs what I can afford is the standard Linx 1010. A customer report I've read by one chap who has a 32gb 1010 says he wonders how long it will be before the OS grabs the entire 32gb so what do you do then? A fair question me thinks.

Dave.. what OS do you have on yours and what sort of space do you have left on the internal drive? It's possible that the 5gb MS update I didn't have space for is actually a new Win10 build. Linx have said that there is an option to go back to your old OS but this function only lasts for a few days. After which.. you're stuck with the new build and the backups automatically delete giving you back some of what you lost. This option is attractive though still not possible on a 16gb device. I'm still worried that 32gb might not be enough.. long term.. given how often Windows updates but I've found one (from Amazon) with the keyboard dock for £149 which isn't bad considering the keyboard is around £27.
