Yep, my code doesn't specifically turn the gennys on. I just had a quick flight & the battery voltage was staying constant so I assume they were on line. I'm wondering if your default flight is saved with them turned off. *-)

Just tried it and it seems fine, although it was a quick flight & I haven't tested everything.

Thanks Dave - the Vulcan is one I definitely want in P3Dv3. :)

Yes. My default flight is with the FSX Cessna at my local airport. I edited the flight directly to turn everything off, otherwise it would not be "cold and dark." :cpu: Some developers just forget to include switches or scripting for the obvious systems, which is why I have a hotkey for the generators. If there is a generator switch for the Vulcan, I haven't found it.

As far as I can see from the manual, there aren't any generator switches. Seems that switch 12 (electrical master) does it all :cpu:

Well, after coming up empty handed I decided to make some tweaks for myself. After several flights to refresh myself with the plane, I felt the VC needed a couple more views to make it easier to get around and set the autopilot. So, here you are:

[CameraDefinition.003]
Title = "Cockpit Center"
Guid = {44FBED15-EA04-45ed-8A40-EE81951E9D05}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = YES
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 0.5 //0.3
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=100
HeadingPanRate=100
InitialXyz=0.4, 0, 0
InitialPbh=50, 0, 0

[CameraDefinition.004]
Title = "Autopilot"
Guid = {9f311d53-2a22-4d9b-86b6-43838f73e939}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = YES
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 0.7
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=100
HeadingPanRate=100
InitialXyz=0.4, 0, 0
InitialPbh=90, 0, 0
Just add these sections to the aircraft.cfg and off you go.

:cheers:

I've just installed the Iris Vulcan in P3Dv3, by running the install exe to a set of dummy folders then pasting the Vulcanfiles into P3D. Seems to have worked nicely, and Dave G, this is the first time I've had a chance to use your quick start gauge - last time, I'd un-installed FSX just before it was available. What a time saver it is - thanks very much. :)

Got a slight problem with the Vulcan and it's similar to my JF Canberra issues, in a way - I'm wondering if it's all to do with my settings ?. Anyway, I keep getting instant altitude changes of about 200 feet, then a pop-up tells me that my altimeter is incorrectly set and that I should press Ctrl+X to fix it. I do that, but within a couple of minutes it happens again - altimeter suddenly changes and the prompt to press Ctrl+X appears. I'm going to look into it, but is there anything obvious that I should check ?

EDIT: From further investigation, this might be the fault of my Saitek X-52 Pro setup. I've now tried flying it with a Logitech X3D stick, and no such problems. *-)

Can anyone tell me where I can download the autostart gauge mentioned above?

I rarely fly the Vulcan because I find it such a faff doing a cold start.

Thanks for any pointers.

You can download the gauge here: http://daveg.cbfsim.org/files/DG_Vulcan.zip

Unzip & place the CAB file in the "IRIS Vulcan B.2 RR201 / panel" folder, then edit the panel.cfg to add:

gauge09=DG_Vulcan!SYSTEM_DG_Autostart, 0,0,1,1

in the [Vcockpit01] section.
The gauge is triggered by clicking on the far right arm rest and it will run though the quick start procedure.
