Flag Officer Sea Training.. now there's a title to conjure with!!
Within a couple of hours being onboard Oberon.. his staff have simulated fires, floods, NBC attack, medical emergencies and any number of mechanical failures culminating in a tow and helo transfer!!
By their very nature.. submarines aren't particularly interesting on the outside. They're either big, medium or small and black!! I got the opportunity to take a short trip on a Polaris boat many moons ago. It was doing DSRV exercises with the American rescue sub 'Avalon' piggy-backed on the rear. Now that was interesting on the inside!! At around 7,500t.. it was a similar size to a County Class DLG The old 'R' boats had a nice profile too
Using AI tracks.. you could probably get away with it although if it had a number of turns.. you're likely to end up with an extended tow. Not sure what would happen on the return either. That was setup using AICarriers
