Wilco Harrier problem

Post by DaveB »

Hi Chaps :hello:

Does anyone out there have the Wilco/AH Harrier? If so.. how do you get ordnance to display on the wings :dunno: I've had this ages and never tried before. It already has hard points fitted but there's no indication either in the manual or in the aircraft.cfg what the weights are. All it says is that to load ordnance, you do this by using the Payload setting. I found an in-depth review over at Avsim and the chap who wrote it reckoned you have to go on-line and find the weights for yourself. I tried this for AIM9's and added variations of the available weights to the Payload section but still nothing displays (I tried the basic AIM9, the 9D and 9G). Gad knows how you go about adding rockets to the GR3 8)

What say you guys? *-)

Hi DaveB :hello:

Found this at Sim Outhouse

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/s ... ed!)/page7

"To the left of the radar there's a bank of 5 switches in a line. Thats the weapons console and when you have the light in red it has a weapon on the pylon. Nice way of doing it although not yet checked to see if it alters the weight of the aircraft. Switches are numbered 6 in the manual."

Hmm..

Found how you complete this evolution. There are switches on the lower L main panel which when switched, load your ordnance. Checking the payload section, it doesn't add weight though it has to be said, the weights for this thing are all over the place. When did you last see a 300lb pilot!!

I've been flying all 3.. Wilco, Razbam and SSW Harriers over the past few days and I've concluded that I'd like the Wilco model with the frame rates of the Razbam model and the FD of the SSW model. Then.. you'd have one great model  That, sadly, is how I find them. The GR3/FRS is my fave version but I've always had FR issues with the Wilco/AH. Frame rates on the Razbam model are excellent but it's a GR7/9/AV8 and the FD is.. erratic. The SSW AV8 has the best flight model but the version is also AV8 and the visual model looks like it's from another era. I also see an invisible model when I go outside sometimes.. not an untextured model.. NO model but for bits here and there. It redraws in a second but it's not ideal. Perhaps it's because the maps are 4096 and a massive 16mb each :-O

Late edit: Cheers Colin.. having searched for ages, I stumbled over the answer but thanks for your input. I was lucky this time.. that is often NOT the case
