I suppose the main difference externally is the F6 has the bigger ventral fuel tank. I'm sure there are loads of other differences though! :lol:

Isn't the F.6 the one with the kinked leading edge on the wing ? Can't tell for certain, but it seems so, from what few pictures I've searched.

We'll have to see...

Hey.. how's about the SSW AV8 instead?? I've just bought it anyway :lol:

IT, and everything else at SSW, is in a 50% off summer sale at the moment. Just be aware that the sale price doesn't include VAT though of course.. the VAT is halved too ;)

Personally, there's something about the look of the SSW stuff I don't like, so I've never really been tempted to buy any. That may change with their Tornado though. :lol:

I'd tend to agree Dave. They lack the finesse of some of their peers though it has to be said.. the Zipper (in particular as I already have this) is a fine model. My panel has never looked as good 'in sim' as some pictures I've seen and I am using the hi-res textures. The repaint situation (to add one) is a nightmare.. I've rarely seen anything quite so complex. Not sure if this is because SSW always include an optimised 'online' model which is/are separate from the 1st person model/s but it sure makes you scratch your head for a few minutes :lol: The flight model for the Zipper is wild.. it'll bite your butt relatively easy though this said.. it doesn't take a lot to keep it under control. Landing is perhaps the most difficult.. if your rpm is too low, it'll drop the left wing in very short order causing a right old mess on the runway :-O It's fun though and it runs like a dream.. absolutely NO FR issues at all. You DO have to play it by the book though. There's no quick-start as such.. more a base minimum that you can get away with. Start to running takes around 3mins which isn't too bad. No jump in and fly.

I've held off getting the AV8 because of a review I read online. Nothing bad in the review.. just that it is a complex model to get the best out of. For my part.. I don't intend getting the best out of it.. just to fly will do me :lol: I found a start-up vid online and it didn't look so bad. I'll watch it a few more times to try and memorise the sequence. The vid was 4mins long and a lot of that was just panning around the cockpit.. not switch switching. It's regarded by many as having the best Harrier flight model. We'll see if I ever get it off the ground :lol:

Sim Skunk Works, eh ? Bit of an unknown quantity for me, as I've never read any reviews of their aircraft. However, one that does tempt me is the F-84, which is a real beauty;

The F-104 looks great, but I hope that in the not too distant future, A2A revive their Starfighter project. :)

Oo-er...

As expected.. the model isn't as well put together as some but it flies beautifully. Not tried STOL or VTOL yet.. as I couldn't find the throttle limiter, the brakes wouldn't come off so I thought I'd stick with conventional flight at the first attempt. Oh.. I did find the limiter (hidden so close to the throttle I couldn't see it!!!) :lol: It's surprisingly 'heavy' to run. FR's are excellent but shooting outside to admire (for want of a better word) the view often gave me a 'part made' model. It all shot back in an instant but I didn't expect that :-O Unfortunately.. I couldn't get out when I'd landed so I have to spend all night sat in the cockpit reading the manual :lol:

Pleased thus far despite the model looking like a poor relation ;)
