Graphics terminology explained

Post by Paul K »

Here's a couple of great videos for those people ( like me ) who thought anti-aliasing was just a case of using your real name. He uses the word 'awesome' , and mistakes intialisms for acronyms, but the videos go a long way to explain what it all means. After all these years of pretending to know what ambient occlusion, anisotropic filtering and FSAA are, I now actually do.

Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... UcBwsQTwwI

Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... MuCGwoAH-U

At the end of vid two, he recommends anisotropic filtering over bilinear and trilinear - something that might be obvious to some, but it wasn't to me. Off to change my P3D settings !
