CS737 Update Finally Available...
For any of you 737-200 drivers, the long awaited update to the Captain Sim 737 is available. It claims to have fixed the outstanding issues with the PDCS , braking, power problems etc. I must admit I had thought it would never appear - i first downloaded a version almost exactly three years ago - but fair does to them for getting it out finally. Now we'll see if it works....

Re: CS737 Update Finally Available...
Many thanks for the HU John.
Oooh 'Eck!!!
Just went to the update page of Capt Simand read the following..
How to get the 1.6?
1. Check-in to Your Profile
2. In Your Profile click: Product (737 Captain) > Extended Download Service and download the 737 Captain 1.6 to any folder on your computer.
3. Uninstall everything from the 737 Captain family. (Start> Programs> Captain Sim> 737 Captain)
4. Make sure FSX, FSX-SE and Prepar3D is not running.
5. Double click the downloaded csp732_1600.exe file to install* the 1.6.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for Expansion models (if any) in any order.
7. Restart your computer. * - The 1.6 will overwrite previously installed freeware liveries and/or other modifications of the original product. Prior to uninstall the product please backup all data added to the original product.
OK, either it's my age or I am becoming more stupid but............Does it mean that you have to uninstall the whole product and then install the 1.6 update which is the complete package of the 737?????
If so, I am not on the internet at home to register the aircraft via their site so will have to leave this update alone and just fly it as it is

Re: CS737 Update Finally Available...
Well as ever, failing to rtfm I just installed it over the top of my existing 737 after backing up the aircraft.cfg file first. The installer doesn't trash other textures, just replaces aircraft.cfg. It is a complete install package though, not just a patch.
You do need to be on line to install though.

Re: CS737 Update Finally Available...
Oh Deary me!!
I would have thought that one could actually install it then register it after that as you do with Flight Sim Store software on the wrapper validation facility that I use.
I am sure that when I bought the Capt Sim 737-200 I was not on the internet at home and validated through their site but it was a devil of a job finding the validation thingy and took me some time to locate it. I don't think their site is very user friendly as I cannot now work out how or where to change my e-mail address there.
Either it's me age or I am finally becoming senile without knowing it!!
Regards
Nigel

Nigel - actually, I think you are right - the install did have an option to "validate now" or (I think) "validate later"....

Am I right in thinking that I need to purchase it again in order to get the P3D version ?

Not sure - certainly my 1.6 update only offers me the chance to update FS-X or FS-X Steam Edition, so maybe.Kevin Farnell wrote:Am I right in thinking that I need to purchase it again in order to get the P3D version ?

Hi John, many thanks. Will download it when I can as unfortunately the library computers run by the County Council don't allow downloading of software!!
