REX Essentials OD and REX4 - big updates

Post by Paul K »

Just to let everyone know; Rex has released big updates to both Rex Essentials+Overdrive and Rex 4 in the last few days. Everything can be downloaded at their forum:

http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/

I'm looking to see if the Essentials+OD update has done something with P3DV2 water textures.

:)

Just a quick follow up - Ive installed the service pack and hotfix for Rex Essentials+Overdrive, and can no longer select any textures. Yet another head-in-hands flight sim moment. I've never indulged in any hobby or interest that is so bloody labour intensive as this one. :wall:

Awaiting support at the Rex forum and off to read a book. 8)

Oh dear.. I'll hang on a while then. Not got Rex installed at the mo and if I try to fly the new Nemeth Bk117 in rain.. the windows go blue so I've time on my hands 8)

Between this and golf. I must be a serious masochist.

Golf? Golf is easy ! If golf was a flight simulator, you'd get all the way to the 18th, only to find the ball diameter and the size of the hole were incompatible.

Tim Fuchs at REX reckons I might have installed the update incorrectly, though they are still looking into it. I used the update's uninstaller once because the build number didn't change after installation, so I thought I'd try again. Trouble is, it looks like the uninstaller uninstalled a lot more than the update. I think I might take up golf.

:-O :-O

In a moment of boredom, I installed Rex E+ OD last night with a view to updating it. An odd thing about Rex is that I've had emails off them for ages but can't remember ever registering on their forum. In fact.. I'm sure I got emails off them even before I'd bought Rex :-O Tried getting on the forum to get the updates and it said my username was in use but didn't recognise my password. Fair enough.. perhaps there are 2 of me and/or I didn't actually register so.. I tried to register and got a message that my email was already in use :-O Plan C!
I plonked my username in then selected 'forgot my password'. Got an email by return then another with a new password. I logged in using the new password.. fine. However.. it says I don't have access to any of the forums 8) Think I'll leave well alone

Checking back.. I really did get emails off them a long time before I bought Rex and I've absolutely no idea why this should be other than at some point, my email has been hacked and someone has been using it. Think I may take up golf too Paul

Dave, I think you need another password for the forums and therefore you need to register again. I have one for restoring my settings and another for forums.

Could find any other way of doing it.

Hiya Nev :hello:

That's the odd thing mate.. I've never registered my settings. Fear not.. should push come to shove, I'll contact support there ;)

EDIT: I tried again tonight and got in ok. I guess access had to be confirmed by invoice number and place of purchase before one could peep inside :)

Just thought I'd tell that Reed Stough at REX has very kindly sorted me out with a new Rex Essentials +OD download, up to the latest build, and all now seems well. Thanks hugely to Reed and Tim Fuchs. :)
