Re: TFC
THanks for all that Dave G. I'll look into it when I next have a day off, though I rather suspect I'm just going to have to put up with it, which is a bugger because I love Duxford. I'll get back to you.

Re: TFC
Dave G:...your second option - remove the people entirely...how easy is that ? Is it a case of simply deleting a file in the sim somewhere, or do I have to use A.D.E ( with its attendant compilation errors ) ? I could quite happily have a deserted Duxford and just have the crowds there on airshow days.

Re: TFC
Hi Paul
Unfortunately the people are placed in a bgl along with a lot of other stuff, so it's not a case of simple removing a bgl.
There are other tools with which you could edit the bgl apart from ADE, ModelconverterX would probably be the easiest.
You could "cheat" and simple remove the fx files from the P3d/effects folder. There are 31 of them, fx_ACGDXPeeps01.fx through to fx_ACGDXPeeps31.fx
Not the ideal solution, but should do the job.

Re: TFC
Dave G: Thanks for all that, Dave. The problem with things like this is that I often don't know where to start, and your advice has given me some some ideas and avenues to explore. Very much appreciated !
Dave B: Can we have some more of your TFC shots now ? I promise I'll shut up. ( Apologies )
EDIT: Dave G, I've just removed ( and backed up ) fx_ACGDXPeeps01.fx through to fx_ACGDXPeeps31.fx as you suggested, and the levitating leprechauns have gone, which suits me fine. I'd rather not have something at all, than have something there that constantly reminds me that it is wrong. Not ideal, as you say, but more than good enough for now. Thanks again.
Okay...NOW I'll shut up.

Re: TFC

I'm glad you've arrived at a vaguely acceptable compromise mate. As you say.. not seeing them is better than seeing their unearthly levitations.
I'll try and fit some more TFC shots in but work is against me these next few days. Also.. I noticed the desktop link for DXTBmp had changed to a generic icon from the little green aeroplane and pencil. I clicked on it to see what was what and the program had gone! All the links were there but the folder on C: had gone

Blimey, I remember when it used to be said that computers would help us. Now we spend half our time helping them . Good luck !DaveB wrote: I'll try and fit some more TFC shots in but work is against me these next few days. Also.. Hi PaulPaul K wrote:Right, I've tried again, following all the instructions..and I'm still nowhere with it.
You seem happy with your Duxford scenery now, but you are likely to encounter missing taxiways with many FSX airports installed into P3D2.4.
I know that ADE has quite a steep learning curve and I'm no expert myself, but you may be interested in a short tutorial by Scruffyduck software.
It can be found here -

[Edit] - you'll still need to save the file as an 'AD4' (I usually save to a new folder on my desktop) and then Compile it as a 'BGL' file (I do this to the same new folder, then copy and paste into the relevant Scenery folder in P3D, remembering to remove or re-name the original BGL file).
Hope this helps
Kevin

Re: TFC
Thanks for that Kevin. Actually there is another airfield, RAF Wormingford, that I might load up into ADE and see if I can make the taxiways appear in P3Dv2, so your advice is very welcome.

What does the 2013 update to the Duxford scenery give you?
Didn't know about the update.
