FSX still crashing any ideas?

Hi chaps, ongoing from my previous thread but this may be my last chance in getting FSX to work, it now crashes regularly with or without ai traffic, below are the read outs after every crash, sometimes it is related to BEX and other times to APPCRASH.

I have previously un-installed then re-installed FSX but the problem still remains.

MSVCR80.dll - version: 8.0.50727.4927

There's at least 2 newer releases of the Visual C++ 2005 runtimes.
Latest version is 6195

It may not fix your issue, but its a step in the right direction.

Very many thanks for the link and will download it when I can get to another computer linked to the internet as the library does not allow downloads on their computers (Very annoying at times)!!

Think I have actually located the problem, after having searched through links regarding FSX crashes I came across one thread that related to graphic driver problems.

When I got home I uninstalled the latest Nvidia driver I had for the GTX760 and re-installed the original one from the disc which came with the card. On selecting a flight in FSX I just had one CTD out of about ten flights and now I think I have at last solved the problem.

Still need to do a few more tests but keeping fingers crossed everything is back to normal.

I actually believe that changing graphics drivers each time a new one comes out is a waste of time.. especially as they're not developed for FSX these days. If you installed NVidia experience.. you're best uninstalling it along with all the crap it throws on your pc.. 3D (x2) e t c. If you're only running basic stuff and FSX on your system.. you only need the display driver

In your case, you're not connected to the internet so NVidia experience won't keep prompting you there's a new driver available (when one is) but it's still worthwhile getting rid of it and the 3D gubbins

Many thanks for the advice, I installed the software from the disc that came with the graphic card so will have to take a look when I get home, I know it does have other bits such as you wrote so will have to see if I can bin that and just install the display driver.

Will be going into town tomorrow so will call in at the computer shop I use and ask if he can download me a couple of the display drivers and find out which one gives the performance I need! Remember some time ago when I had the Nvidia 560GT (think it was) one of the drivers they released was cr*p and went back to the previous version and never looked at another release.

Still not 100% happy with it but unfortunatley there is no try before you buy and just bought what I thought was the best at the time for the price I could afford at the time.
