Taxi speed problem.
On FSX I am unable to keep the aircraft static with theengine running without the use of the brakes. parking and other brakes. When taxiing even on idle throttle settings my aircraft move and even gather speed. I have a CH Thottle, Yoke and pedals. Any help and advice would be appreciated to stop this.

If this is all aircraft, the obvious would seem to say that the throttle is not going to zero when closed.
Have you actually checked in the calibration setup what percentage you are getting with it fully closed.

Re: Taxi speed problem.
Yup.. that would appear to be the problem. However, calibration percentage may not tell the whole story. My Sidewinder shows zero% in the calibration window but when I open and close the throttle in the sim, moving the mouse over the throttle shows it to be at 1%
1% is closed enough for there to be no creep mind you and those that do creep will do so unless I put the brakes on.. even if I Ctrl+F1 (creep is the wrong word.. certain models are off like a good'un unless the brakes are on but the default and vast majority don't).
Try hovering the mouse over the models throttle to see what percentage is showing when you have your CH at fully back. Do you have it calibrated using the CH software or through FSUIPC? In any case.. Ctrl+F1 should chop the throttles to zero in the sim
(or perhaps even just F1.. Ctrl+F1 changes the prop pitch unless you're in a Harrier where it moves the jet pipes down for stol/vtol)

Re: Taxi speed problem.
That would be a go-er for turbo props but his default should be fine.

Thanks for your your answers. I am trying to use FSUIPC but I have put a null zone in the FS controls. That seems to have done it. I tend to find the throttle quadrant a PITA but having brought it I must persevere.

Re: Taxi speed problem.
There is another possible cause, which I have found to bug me on the odd occasion in the past.
Ensure your default flight is saved with the throttle at zero. Any flight you start without specified settings will start with those of the default flight, and if that setting is at odds with where your controls are, it can mess things up and get really frustrating when you try to sort it.
Fuel tanks and helicopter revs were especially affected in my case, but I've also suffered from the self-driving syndrome you speak of.
Some aircraft seem to do it, regardless, so I have a button set to F1 on my throttle control and press that the instant the flight finishes loading. Always does the trick.

Very good point John
...programme refferring to incorrect default basics is something often missed
...the last thing you tend to think of when it really should be the first thing checked.
Unless that's right you really are flogging a dead horse.

I have loaded a C172 and made a Default flight with the throttle on 0%. See how that goes. Thanks everybody for the advice so far.
