Right;
I've looked at this from left, right and upside down! It should work- but then I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to gauges and sounds. I'm sort of stuck at the "alias" sounds level.
I'm trying, honestly...

Hi mate,
What do you mean by Alias sounds level? Not sure I follow.

My clarity strikes again!
I mean my knowledge of sounds and gauges is poor. I can write a done configured to use another set of sounds, using the "alias " technique.
Much more than this and I'm lost.

Ok: ready??
Sort out the "in-cockpit" sounds on the 1-11. I just can't do it. I've worked through it forwards, backwards, left it a day, looked at other aircraft, read posts here, researched on the web...
Ta!

I'm getting the same error as you in the 1-11 mate, but in the Trident its fine. Both are using the same dsd_fsx_xml_sound gauge and are set up in the same way. I'm sure its a typo somewhere, but just trying to find the bloody thing

Hi Paul,
Can you try opening DM_1-11_sound.ini in a text editor (e.g. Notepad), delete the entire contents and replace it with below...
this worked for me, even though I couldn't see any difference between it and what was already there!
Code: Select all
[Config]
MaxSounds=8
ErrorFlag= -1
LvarStop=DM SOUND STOP
VolumeVar=dsd_xml_sound_volume
ResetVolumeVar=1
[Sounds]
Sound00=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/ALERT.wav
Sound01=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/BEEP.wav
Sound02=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/FIRE.wav
Sound03=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/HORN.wav

Sound06=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/VOICE_V1.wav
Sound07=./SimObjects/Airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/VOICE_VR.wav

No, sadly not.
I've put the dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau file in there, and the same in teh main FSX gauges as you said, I've cut and pasted the text above- still no....
