How to get glossy textures.

Post by DogTailRed2 »

I have a high end system, Nvidia 2gb graphics card, i7 4 ghz yaddha.
But I don't get glossy textures like this http://www.alabeo.com/index.php?accion= ... correl=100
So what do I need to set. Or are these images made with non playable settings?

I often wonder if this sort of shot isn't 'setup' in some way. This said.. while I don't have this particular model (though I've been tempted many times).. all my other Alabeo models do look like (or very similar to) the screenies of those models. The shots are 'posed' to show them at their best.. of that I'm sure but you should still be seeing a decent shine. Could you post a screenie to show us what you're seeing?

I could be an enhanced Env.map.

Some folk change the games file to improve shine with disasteroud results for stuff that has been made properly

Modified env maps can be placed in the individual aircraft texture folders so shouldn't effect other add-ons. ;)

.. and Alabeo are good at doing that. I've just had a quick look at the R66 Turbine and there are no less than 5 env maps in the common texture folder. The same goes for the D17, PA38 and YM5. Odd one out is the Pitts and this has 3 in the texture folder. Can't see the Business Liner being any different *-)

Anyhoo.. he's not been back so he's either sorted it or thinks our replies are cr@p

No, I don't think your replies are `unsuitable` :-)

Thanks for the answers btw.
