Dave,
About the Sim crashing..
Are you familiar with the uiautomationcore.dll issue?
http://forum.avsim.net/topic/273341-her ... win-7-x64/
I don't want to just start throwing things at it. I thought you might have something to say about it.
I've yet to make any FSX cfg changes..

Re: Win7 'Power Off' button
Yo Joe
FSX crashing isn't generally an issue for me mate though it has been known to go a bit banzai if I fly it continually for long enough. The main problem I get on this install is an ai.player.dll error after shutdown.. the reasons for which are open to debate. Just when I think I have it cracked.. it pop's up again
Couldn't get into Avsim to read that thread (what a surprise) but I know the gist of what it's saying

Re: Win7 'Power Off' button
That was what improved my FSA crashes Dave. It didn't eradicate them completely, but certainly made a marked improvement. I just put a copy of that version of the file into my main FSX folder. I'll send you a copy over if you like.
Ben.

From what I gather mate.. FSX may not use it anyway.. odd, I know. You can, it seems, substitute the original file for a blank txt file with the same name and Robert is also your uncle. FSX looks for it as part of its checklist and that appears to be it

Hello
The dll. in question is a dll for Vista. it is to be placed in the FSX root directory only. That way, FSX only uses the vista dll. and win 7 and the other programs installed use the win 7 dll.
The link to the Vista DLL is here
http://www.search-dll.com/dll-files/dow ... e.dll.html
(right column third one from top)
But If I rememeber , Dave you have a VISTA OS ... you could get it from there perhaps.

uh oh.. scratch using the dll. from a recently updated version of Vista. that dll was changed from the original .. It' the original dll. (older one) that you want.

Re: Win7 'Power Off' button
Add the uAIautomationcore dll. from the link I posted , add it to the FSX root dorectory. when you start FSX the exe. sees the (Vista) uAIautomationcore dll. and use it, instead of the Win 7 version....
If it doesn't seem to fix things , you can just delete it.
I just added it to my FSX folder. there wasn't a dll. with that name so I didn't overwrite anything. I just added in . easy enough to remove it..
Which is it Dave, the blue pill or the red one....
