Where did you find that last paint Dave? Haven't seen that before.

Pants.. now you're askin'

It may have been OZx but it may also have been SOH. SOH is likely as I downloaded a fix for it yesterday. I noticed, as did everyone else, the 222 on the fin was reversed on the LH side  The patch fixes that ;)

EDIT: I can't see it at SOH (though this may be me) but I have found it at Hovercontrol. Odd because I didn't see the fix there.. just the main paint *-) If computers were any good, you could hover the cursor over the file and it'd say where it came from!

After being poked with a sharp stick by FSPS.. I find I can only start redeeming points when I have 750 hence why I'm not seeing this magic box. Now.. you get 2 points for every dollar spent so is it really conceivable that I've spent $328 (656 points) bagging myself a mighty £3.96 that I can't spend? *-) Surely shome mishtake :dunno:

Found it over at HoverControl, along with the patch. Downloaded it and went to install and found I had it already :wall:  I'll get my coat...

Its been out a while and I was a bit shocked you'd not got it. Funny though.. that's probably only the second time I've flown it too. Must be the thumbnail isn't 'in ya face' enough *-)

Dave,
Fear not my friend, it's the repaints in the middle three screenshots that have already contributed to my probable purchase of the 222. By the bye, I've yet to see a sale on Cera models of anything but 20% - hopefully, having said that, the next one will be at least a bit more than 20%, though that doesn't really help us between now and the 12th ...

Also, those points earned at FSPS - I too have a few and am somewhat miffed that you have to accumulate so many before you can even redeem a single point. There doesn't even seem to be a way of tracking when and on what you earned the perishers in the first place - mine seemed to appear mysteriously one day when I made a new purchase, though that must have been a good three years ago now.

Regs,
Ro

Well.. I'm almost embarrassed to say I bought the Bell 412 anyway but I know I'm among understanding friends who will understand

Unfortunately, the addon paints I went for are not of the quality I'd hoped which may ultimately mean me having to do my own anyway.. not that mine are much cop.. just that mine will be better than what I've just downloaded :) It's not bad the 412.. certainly not the handful the 222 can be. Also, the prop animation seems to work a lot better and looks less clumsy. I don't know if this is to do with the 412 having 4 blades as opposed to the 222's 2 but it looks a lot better. I dunno how you'd fly it by instruments without either the fisheye effect or by using TrackIR. The main VC view shows absolutely JS except the view out. This is fine for me as I don't pay too much attention but it may infuriate 'by the book' pilots with normal vision and no TrackIR :worried:
I'm happy with it as a helicopter model. It's not as pretty as the 222 but flies better (for me).

Incidentally mate.. the £16.88 you see advertised for the 412 (others are that price too.. the Blackhawk being the odd one out if I remember right) cost me £17.25 with the exchange rate at Paypal.. 37p extra ;)

Tsk, tsk, Mr. B, and a tut tut too ... :((

Glad you like the 412, though it's a shame about the repaints. I was going to re-review the available paints for all the Cera models again today in case I'd missed any for the 222 and to see how many 412 (and indeed 212) paints interested me. I recall the DHFS one and I think there was at least one for the UK military and some other air arms. If you are going to do some of your own, please let me see them.

After your earlier comments about the rotor textures, I was going to ask how easy it would be to improve them. Now, I suspect that it would be a case of updating the model rather than just a texture. Is that your view too ?

As far as the instrument view is concerned, I believe there are ways of changing the view position. I've collected notes on several different aspects of this (ways to change different parameters that affect the view), and wondered if one of these might help the situation you described.

IMHO, PayPal are one of the more expensive ways to use a UK credit card abroad. Some time ago, I did a comparison between the then exchange rate for (I think) USD and what PP would have charged me if I had used their rate to complete that purchase. Decided to stick with my card company's rate, and, when that came through on my statement, it was indeed lower than it would have been to use the PP rate. Of course, there are other factors to consider when buying outside the UK, but for me the expected cost of the transaction usually wins ...

Again, glad you like the 412 - as you say it's nowhere near as pretty as the 222, but it does look good in some of those paint schemes.

Regs,
Ro
;)

edit - and I promise not to tell you about any more sales I come across ...
