It's one of the airfields in Gary Summons' UK2000 Volume 3.

Re: Aerosoft Lightning F3
This model seems to have been very well received and the screenshots posted look rather tasty. To a degree, they bring back memories from Farnborough in the early 60s, but there's one thing I don't recall from those times. In some of the screenshots, the edge of the nose intake is represented as being shiny, silver and almost mirror like - were any of the colour schemes really like that ?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi rohan,
Well looking at my Aviation Classic Magazine on the Lightning i would say they have got most of the intakes about right, some Lightnings seem to have a slightly darker silver as well.
The Lightnings i saw at Bruntingthorpe last year were silver on the outside rims at least!
Nice shots on Aerosoft's site,
Have a look, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgLUuyygVUI

Roger,
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Re: Aerosoft Lightning F3
Roger, thanks for that. Seems the repaints could well be correct in that respect, and I noticed in the video that the rim around the exhausts was also relatively shiny silver. As I said, it's not a feature I remember, and I know that not all restored aircraft have accurate colour schemes applied.
Thanks again,
Ro

Yuh, the modelling group I used to belong to did a big thing on the Lightning as part of the build up to the Airfix 1/48 scale release (and Airfix Model World mag did a 3-part in-depth series on them) and it turns out they all had the mirror finish on the intake.
Very difficult to replicate on a plastic model! (Yeah, some use that stick-on metallic tape stuff, but I don't - can't find it!)

Re: Aerosoft Lightning F3
Any more thumbs-up for this model? I'm thinking about buying it this evening.

"Realistic in-flight refueling rate (Refueling can take place when set parameters are reached to simplify the task for the less experienced fliers)"
So, does it come with a tanker?
