Anyone use FSX on a Laptop?

Post by TSR2 »

Hi Chaps,

I know this is a bit of a daft question coming from me, but do any of you run FSX on a Laptop with the integrated Intel 3000 series graphics card? I'm away a lot with work at the minute and I'd like to keep progressing with Thurleigh, so was contemplating buying a larger disk drive for the laptop and installing FSX.

Cheers Joe. I'm not expecting the same performance that I get on the PC, but so long as its usable, that's good for me.

I'm going to pull the 7200 out of my MSI, coz it's junk" , and put it in the HP.. If I can gain a couple fps for three days work ... It should be worth it.
Wonder how the SSD would improve FR'S?

I'll let you know Joe. I've some credit sitting with a mate so I've called off a 500GB Samsung SSD. £172 for 500GB seems pretty good to me, so the plan is to stick that in the laptop and install FSX. I'll let you know how it goes, :cpu:

Good news (for me) My laptop has two graphics cards. I disabled the ATI Radeon HD 7400m not long after I got it to save battery life as I was on the road a lot. Just re enabled it, and it remains active when on mains, and switches to the Intel on battery. The AMD card has a dedicated 1GB of GDDR5 men. :excited:
