Mk 3 Chipmunk
Has anyone got a paint kit for Rick Piper's Mk 3 chippie that they would be prepared to share with me?
We would like to paint it in the colours of our VA.
Thanks
Den

Hi Den
Welcome aboard
Not sure what you mean by a Mk.3
There were T1, T2, T10, Mk.20,21,22,22A etc??
I've not got the model but is it not the same mapping for all in the package?

There must be one around, I remember doing the welcome screen for a VFR club a few years ago and it featured one of their repainted Chipmunks.
Check at CixVFR website, Den, maybe ask the guys - they are friendly enough.
Hmm - there was a few years back:

Re: Mk 3 Chipmunk
Really?
I tried it and it came up a blank!
I've been looking around since and come up with nothing really useful, except a page with some repaints on by Chris Brisland - eagleskinner.
Anyway, Den, if you have no luck getting the paint kit, you might like to drop Chris a line - his email address is on this page:
http://www.eagleskinner.com/readme.htm
The Chipmunk pages at Britsim are coming up extremely weird here - the whole page is tiled, showing multiple images of every image file on it, including the zip one!
It's enough to send a bloke cross-eyed!

JD..
I've downloaded the file that Rick pointed to in that thread and it opens. There's a PSD for the basic silver Chippy and an alpha.bmp

Re: Mk 3 Chipmunk
Well would you believe it
I revisited the page and tried a right-click and "save target as..." and found it was already in my downloads folder!
Must have downloaded the first time I did it - all I saw was a blank page, though. I wish the downloading process in Firefox was a little more obvious!

Re: Mk 3 Chipmunk
Thanks for the welcome guys, and sorry for not getting back earlier.
To clear up a few things.
DaveB You're right, the version I refer to is theDX10 compliant one with the .dds textures. I have been in contact with Rick Piper about this and he suggested coming here.
JOhn- your post about the CIX VFR club made me chuckle. I am a member of the CIX and the leader of the Chippie formation team
We currently use the older, FS9 version, but I want to use one that will show correctly with DX10, hence this search.
I will have a look at the page you refer to for Eagleskinner. I now have done and there is a reference to a paint kit which I have downloaded. We'll give it a go and see how we get on. Will let you know.
Thanks again chaps.
