Thanks again chaps.

Another question. Does anyone know a good (read easy) way to do netting as shown in the links below...

Hi Folks

Ben -
Offshore, and on the skimmers, (targets), I've worked on,
safety netting is 'normally' fairly well tensioned,
so it would be reasonable to represent it with a flat textured sheet.

Possibly in this instance,
the application of those hair-dryers might have impaired its appearance/characteristics. :hide:

Cheers Paul,

I'll see what I can do. These bloody arcs in Sketchup are doing my head in, so it might be more tricky than it should be. I'm finding it at nightmare to move bits on a specific axis. it tries to be clever and guess the axis you're wanting to move along, but always picks the wrong one

Anyway, Glass textures sorted and I've done my own bricks, which I think have worked out well....

As they say, every day is a school day. I've managed to get a net / mesh texture together and even managed to get it to texture a curved arc around the edge of the ramp. I'm not sure I have the inclination to do the supports for the netting, theres been more than a few FFS tonight, so I'll come back to yjat one later... maybe... ;)

Ok, so I have been buggering about with the netting and the supports for two days now and I think I'm as done as I'll ever be. I'm now officially sick of looking at that bloody ski jump

Thanks chaps. Another question, whats the best way to add a light to a building? The Kinetheodolite towers had a red light on top of the service ladders, probably just to mark them as an obstruction. I was going to model a dome shape for the light, but I'm not sure how to make it light up. Any ideas? :dunno:

Attach an effect (fx) file Ben. You can do that in MCX.

I was wondering about effects too. You NEVER see Rugeley B Pwr station without 'something' coming from the cooling towers. Some days, it's just a 'light' show but on others, it's quite dramatic. I know I can't achieve the 'quite dramatic' effect in FS.. it isn't possible but if I can add basic cooling tower effects to at least a couple of the 4 towers.. it'll look a lot better. I'll have to have a gander ;)
