===EDITED===

hello guys.

I have been testing the PR9 since a week ago. This is no doubt a great aircraft and JF did an awesome job. Great details, great VC, great sound (the sound is really really awseome!). however there are quirks. I have been roaming the net to find some clues and I submitted a ticket, but this is weekend. it seems I am the only one who had these issues, so decided to post them here. I donwloaded on March 21, that's 10 days after update 1.1. But the issues listed on the changelog seem to be presistent, in my case at least.

1. Cold and Dark. Switching to Cold and Dark by pressing Lightning Bolt icon is no problem. The engines as well as the system shut down completely. But oftentimes, the engines would spool up again even without switching either Ground Power or Aircraft Battery. Also, switching Ground Power or Aircraft Battery turns on the both engines. It seems that the RPM stayed at 1000 instead of 0 (as that is the sign the the upcoming start up will be troublesome)

2, The MAP page on the GPS sometimes turns black or grey, even after I do a proper procedure of start up sequence. (Martyn's video on youtube). When this GPS quirk occurs, the Autopilot cannot be switched to IN mode. When this quirk doesnt occur, the autopilot too works well.

3. Cant pull the throttle backward. Moving it forward and cut it off are no problems.

The aforementioned issues are listed on the changelog. I did reinstall the Canberra, running the exe file using Run as Admin (the UAC has been turned off at the first place). I dont use other aircraft but the default ultralight on my FSX main menu. Does anyone have similar issues? Care to share? Thanks in advance

Please note, that the Photo Recon 9 is still an amazing add on!!!

An odd thing has happened. (Actually it happened a while ago, but busy doesn't come close to my current carry on!!! )
I installed the Canberra and noticed that all my FSX menus whilst in the sim (not the start screens or any actual menus) but the tool bar and drop down lists are greyed out and distorted.
I've uninstalled the canberra (another JF aircraft that brings my system to its arthritic knees :'( ) and my menus are still bust.

Has anyone else had this? :dunno:

Paul

I've had buggered menus after an aircraft install but that wasn't from the Canberra.. the Razbam Corsair. It had tried to make an entry in one of the FSX dll's and had failed. The dll was therefore corrupt and those menus (FSUIPC/Canberra/Accufeel) suddenly disappeared. It was easy to fix the dll and restore everything (thanks to DaveG) :)

Some AA modes set though nVidia Inspector (or similar) can distort the menus visually, although they still work fine.

Right. As I'm an ATI chap not NVidia, would this still apply? It went funny upon the installation of the Canberra, so I've not knowingly altered any graphic settings.

It won't be down to an NVidia setting then so that's one possibility ticked off. You can open your dll.xml file and have a look inside to see if everything looks orderly. I appreciate most of us have no idea what we're looking at anyway (certainly not me!!) but at least you have mine as an example and know that from that post, certain things should be as prescribed.

I wish I could tell you where it is but I can't remember. A windows search will do the trick ;)

EDIT: Paul.. in Win7.. it's in Users/Main User-name I guess/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX

Ok, my dll appears in the same format as yours in the other posts- no double entries or anything odd.

The ATC menus are the same- fuzzy text in grey boxes making it almost impossible to read.

Well.. that's another thing ticked off Paul. Have you tried making a new FSX.cfg? This can often solve a problem.
