Soon...

According to this report, Oculus Rift 3D headwear will soon be available (late 2014) for X-Plane FS and will be fully supported by X-Plane. Yayy!!

There is a free demo version of X-plane available for download (Joystick works for 15 minutes and scenery is limited to KSEA). Most AC add-ons perform well in X-plane.

Most exciting news since MSFS 2002!

I read a fairly detailed post somewhere by one of the Occulus Rift beta testers who'd got it working with FSX but it's good to see native support rather than having to hack things! Hopefully LM will include support in P3D if it's not already in there.

Another report (from NPR) about the Oculus Rift VR headset and its capabilities from the 2014 SXSW geekfest at Austin, TX.

Me thinks that someday a Virtual Airline will be able to board passangers (each indivdual at their own PC with a OR-VR headset) and board a flight (something similar to a massive multiplayer game) while one of us sim jocks pilots the AC. Uuuoh, and complete with virtual stewardess too!

:excited:

We are looking in to this tech at work for a project, I would be lying if I did not say I am more excited about the Flight Sim opportunities with it.

Facebook will kill it. All of those possibilities will be wiped out and it will be turned into a way for people to literally get into Facebook. :| :(
