Thanks for that NWS config Dave, my XP reports the Analysis file as "not a valid win32 application" so I need to adjust things in the cfg. The same happened with the long since uninstalled Tristar, and that was never sorted.

I'll open a ticket about it, but without much hope.

OTOH the beast itself is really rather nice, very little impact on frames, nice smooth performance, and the handling seems very consistent. For an in-house product it seems that Just Flight have upped their quality quite a bit with this release, and apart from a little niggle or two it works really well.

Overall I'm happy with the PR9, all I need now is time to fly it

Open a ticket Tony. I think I was in a minority of 1 when I opened mine but there are others out there reporting similar problems now so the more the merrier ;)

It could be something innocent like Ben suggested.. a missing or out of date dot net file or similar.. I dunno. When I tried the cfg entry Dave posted, I loaded my saved panel (with everything ready to go) then popped outside to look at the nose gear operation and noticed the landing light was down and on. I know this wasn't selected in the saved cfg so I checked the panels and the landing light switch was off. In my case, it's obviously missing something but what.. who knows *-)

I know when I load the PR9, all the light switches are set to "on" but only the taxi lights are actually illuminated. The landing light is down, but not lit. Cycling the switches brings things in sync.

Among the other little niggles, I see this when I deploy the GPU's..

Image

I've reported it over at JF but as no one else seems to have the same problem (sunken GPU's) it may only be me! :worried:

The aircraft was 'cold' in that shot too.. fuel taps off, engines off.. the lot yet when I pan to the rear, I can hear the engines running :dunno:

Deary me :(

I've notice the sunken GPUs as well. Can't say I've noticed the engine sounds when shut down though *-)
It's not supposed to be the sound of the GPU running is it?

You're not running 'Accu-Feel' by any chance are you Dave? I've notice that 'Accu-Feel' gives me faint engine sounds when the aircraft is cold and dark. Turning off 'Accu-Feel' normally cures it.

Chaps..

I turned Accu-Feel off for the Canberra during my first flight in case it was having some sort of adverse effect. Even with the GPU's off, I could still hear the engines from the rear (aft of the trailing edge). Wonder if I've got a Friday afternoon job. I did download it well before I got email confirmation that it was ready *-) :worried: Couldn't wait!

It's like the power off problem I've seen. Close everything down.. same routine.. fuel taps/pumps e t c then click the 'cold and dark' icon on the panel graphic (which should effectively turn the lot off) and the starters start trying to turn the engines over. I couldn't stop the blessed thing until I changed models :dunno: If you flick the yellow/black canopy switch, it doesn't reset until the model is changed. Add the lights plus the cfg/analysis problem and there are quite a few little niggles.. none of which taken in isolation mean a great deal but they're starting to mount up. Hope they get them fixed before I lose interest :worried:

EDIT: I've just tried to replicate the sound on/engines off problem and this time, it's remained silent. Can't remember the exact sequence I did it before though 8)

Just had a thought re. the GPUs. They're actually simobjects in their own right rather than being part of the model (why, I don't know, seems a complicated way of doing things!) but that means they have their own sim.cfg so the height can be adjusted.
If you look in the SimObjects\GroundVehicles folder, you'll find JF_Canberra_GPU and JF_Canberra_BCU folders. Open up the respective sim.cfgs and change the static_cg_height to 6.2 for both models.
There's also a JF_Canberra_Sign, which you can do as well.

Just a quick comment on the canopy, Dave - the yellow / black canopy handle is the yellow / black canopy Jettison handle, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Originally, when you reset it the canopy would miraculously re-appear, so that had to be changed and it's now been set so that if you lose the hood you cannot get it back without a re-set. If you don't want the cabriolet PR9, leave the handle alone!
As an aside, your comments are being noted and hopefully new 'niggles' will soon dry up so that we have a list to aim at solving, rather than hurriedly releasing an SP which is only half a job. There will hopefully also be some improvements to the bits that already work / additions to the package.
