Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Well, for myself it's not a case of either/or, I plan to fully enjoy both FSX and P3Dv2 in different ways.
Once the problems with UK2K scenery became apparent in the release version of v2, I decided to only use them in FSX and to invest in FTX scenery for use in P3D.
My only complaint on that score is that all the FTX sceneries come from the shop as V1 and the many patches have to be installed incrementally, so it doesn't only mean downloads of up to 5GB from the shop, but then several patch downloads at up to 0.5GB each - and that for each FTX product.
However, I've not touched P3D since installing the patch, been too busy downloading all those FTX patches!

To be honest John, the sinking wheels at some airports is a minor thing and not something that overly concerns me, its the other stuff like lights not working, yokes disappearing, the moon being the light source and ships not sailing. In some ways they should have just said no backwards compatibility, but even products that have been built specifically for v2 are now broken to some degree.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Just been comparing the 146 in P3dV2.1 & FSX. The wheels sinking seems to be a suspension issue. If you look at the aircraft from the side, in P3d the bottom edge of the gear door is near enough in line with the top of the main wheel tyre, whereas in FSX it's nearer the center of the wheel.
Judging by this and other issues reported on various forums, I think LM have altered something that prevents certain code from working. Whether this was an intentional change or simply a bug is the question. If it was done for a specific reason, then I suppose it's up the the 3rd party devs to update their add-ons if they want to maintain compatibility, but if it's LM's mistake then they should put their code right.
For me, as it stands now it's less usable than V2.0.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Agreed Dave. I get the impression the LM team is very small with nothing like the resources MS had. In some ways i really feel for them as they are taking a bit of a hammering. I'm no writing off P3D as they've made a lot of enhancements, but for most flying FSX is infinitely more stable.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
The view from the cockpit on take off with a 2D panel does not look right, there seems to be a false sense of speed down the runway and the scenery looks distorted as if through a wide angle lens. Did not get this with V2.0.

Hi Ben,
Have you any idea what this means?

Wil it have changed the exe properties?
I usually run in Classic theme, but this time in Aero. Also, I usually run in windowed mode but this time switched between windowed and "full-screen" a few times.
Edit. No, it didn't set compatibility mode on the exe.

Hi George,
if it hasn't changed the Compatibility mode settings it may have set it to run as admin or something. Is that windows 7 you're running? I've not had any bother with it crashing on Win 8, but as with all if the simulators it depends on which addons you have installed and what's being called at the time, that's why its so hard for the guys doing the P3D stuff (IMHO).

No, it made no changes to any of the properties.
I am testing a beta of UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme and Gen-X. There were no problems with V2, but I can get it to crash with V2.1 by following about half a dozen AI aircraft to land.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
I personally cant see 2.1 being long lived George, and I'll bet many developers are going to be loathed to do anything to address these issues for fear the next update will break it again. LM will either have to address the issues, or make it clear that the new errors related to backward compatibility and therefore will only be addressed by building to the new SDK. They need to get a statement out PDQ.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
I had very few problems with V2.0 but I can't find any way to uninstall the V2.1 patch. When I right-click on it there are no options.
