BAC 1-11 rocking from side-to-side during rollout

Post by TrafficPilot »

Good day gents and seasons greetings!

I've got a problem with the lovely BAC 1-11 200 from Mr Maltby. For some reason on landing rollout it rocks quite violently from side-to-side despite landing on speed and with the correct flare. This happens with or without weather. Any of you experienced this or am I just "special"...

Cheers

Adam

Hello Adam :hello:

I personally have never had that nor heard anyone else.

So we need to be looking at specifics. *-)

Have you got the latest pack or is there a chance that you are using different panel/model version combinations?

Did you download from anwhere else than here?

Sorry, can't give you an answer straight off, but perhaps elimination could start with these questions :)

Hi Garry I downloaded it from David's site a few months ago - just reinstalled onto my new FSX drive. Worked fine before.

It's very odd - it's like a sudden gust of wind picks one wing up once I touch down and attempt to roll out in a straight line. I'm having to do a uncoordinated dance with the Saitek Yoke and Rudder pedals to keep it on the runway! It does this with "clear weather" ie no wind/turbulence.

EDIT: It's not just the 1-11. Tried same approach with the QW 146 and same thing so it's obviously not a 1-11 specific issue sorry!

Maybe I'll try another airfield. Was practising touch and goes at LPLA.

Regards

Adam

Do you have Accu-feel installed? I find that affects some aircraft in this way. If you do, try turning down the "side forces" in the "Land" section.

Concur with that. Accu-Feel works really well with some aircraft but others it kills.

Likewise, some airfields in FSX seem to have 'built-in' turbulence very close to one runway end.. I think Inverness is one that can be a challenge even with wind at zero kts and no 'real weather' injected. These 'pockets' of turbulence are one aspect of FSX I don't care for as they can't be eliminated.. even by setting all the sliders hard left :|

Not sure if this helps but when I have had similar unpredictable control inputs it has been down to somehow duplicate axis assignments between FSUIPC and FS itself. Is it possible that your yaw and / or roll axis have both an FSUIPC definition and a conflicting definition in FS?

Thank you gentlemen! Accufeel appears to be the main culprit. Have turned off the "side forces" slider and can now perform a landing with reasonable grace without bouncing off the side of the runway!

JohnWillimas thank you for that tip I shall go through my control assignments tonight and re-calibrate my Yoke through FSUIPC again checking they're not conflicting with FSX.

Cheers and Xmas beers :)
