Looks good Colin, I'd be a little more generous with the PSU, that's the same graphics card I've just bought and it can draw well in excess of 200w. I'd be inclined towards a second ssd for FS, or at least get them to partition the one you've got into two. I'd suggest that unless you're doing digital audio mixing / editing the creative sound card is a waste of cash, the modern onboard ones are great and as you've got plenty of horsepower, wont cause any issues. Any reason for sticking with Win 7?

Hi Colin,

Looks very similar to my new PC (but with a bigger psu) with the exception of the HDD's as I do not have any. I agree with Ben that you should consider an SSD for FS as well. 250G for the OS and 500G for FS.

I do alot of audio work so I need the Creative card, otherwise it will be just fine for you. Doubt you will get much change from £2k!

Thanks Ben. No real reason to stay with Win7 other than it's what I'm used to. What SSDs would be best for FS?

Nev, what size PSU did you go for?

Hi Colin, its horses for courses as everyone's space requirements are different. SSDs are pretty cheap at the moment with 240 - 250 gb drives being had for under £120.

I've 1 x 240GB drive for my OS, a 120GB for FSX and a 120GB for P3D. All of my scenery is on a forth drive so as i can share it with FSX and P3D. Now i bought my SSD's over the past few years, hence the number of them and seemingly random arrangement. If i was going to buy them all now, I'd have a 240 for my OS and a 240 for my FSX and P3D, with scenery on a third drive. To give you an idea, my FSX is taking up about 60 GB (without scenery) and all my scenery (GenX England Wales and Scotland, pretty much all of the UK2000 stuff and other odds and sods) takes up 170GB.

PSU is a Corsair CX 750 (watt).

I have FS9 with VFR scenery,REX and P3DV2 with Real scenery for the whole of the UK. Space taken is 45Gb.
